Krokodil läuft nachts durch die City – mutiger Polizist verhindert wohl Schlimmeres

The huge croc was seen waddling along the pavement as one brave police officer followed behind on foot. Meanwhile, other cops follow the reptile from the safety of their patrol car. Officers shone their torches on the crocodile, helping to guide the animal away from built-up areas as well as show its huge size. At one point, the large reptile is seen stopping for a rest on the pavement before continuing on its way. The enormous beast measured 2.7 metres (8.9 feet) in length. The croc was filmed pounding the streets of Valle de Las Garzas, Manzanillo City, Colima State, Mexico, in the early hours of 21 February. According to local media, municipal cops arrived on the scene after receiving reports of the reptile pounding the streets. However, when they realised how big the animal was, officers decided to maintain a safe distance and call for expert help. Civil Protection specialists and a team of firefighters were called to the area for backup. When the team arrived on the scene, the police had already watched the crocodile makes its way back to its home in the Valle de las Garzas Lagoon without incident. Local resident Yisrael Aaron commented: “Lol another day at the office.” Lilia Lopez remarked: “Spooky!” “Meanwhile in Manzanillo...” wrote Jose Alexander. Another said: “Poor little animal!” Marry wrote: “We were the ones who invaded his habitat. Mexiko: Polizei versucht Krokodil aus der Stadt wegzuführen

Das riesige Krokodil watschelte sogar auf dem Bürgersteig durch die Straßen der mexikanischen Stadt Manzanillo City. Was für ein Horror-Moment es für jeden Einheimischen gewesen wäre, der die Wohnung genau in diesem Moment verlassen hätte und direkt in die Augen des riesigen Reptils geblickt hätte.

Ein Polizist aus Manzanillo City bemerkte wohl als Erster, wer hier gerade einen Spaziergang durch die Stadt unternahm. Der mutige Polizist ma den Anfang und folgte dem Krokodil zu Fuß durch die Stadt.

Laut lokalen Medienberichten meldeten sich kurz danach weitere Anwohner bei der Polizei, die sich daraufhin auf den Weg zum Ort des Geschehens gemacht habe, das berichtet das britische Nachrichtenportal „Jampress.“ So folgten auch andere Polizisten dem Reptil durch die City, jedoch aus der Sicherheit ihres Streifenwagens. Die Beamten leuchteten mit ihren Taschenlampen auf das Krokodil und halfen dabei, das Tier vom bebauten Gebiet wegzuführen, wo es dann aber auch seine enorme Größe zeigte.

Riesiges Krokodil läuft durch die Stadt – Polizei bittet Feuerwehr um Hilfe

Als den Polizisten in diesem Moment klar wurde, wie groß das Reptil wirklich war, beschlossen die Beamten, einen noch größeren Sicherheitsabstand einzuhalten und fachkundige Hilfe anzufordern.

Zivilschutzspezialisten und ein Team von Feuerwehrleuten wurden zur Verstärkung in das Gebiet gerufen. Als das Team am Tatort eintraf, hatte die Polizei jedoch bereits beobachtet, wie das Krokodil ohne Zwischenfälle zu seinem Zuhause in die Lagune zurückkehrte.

Unter den Anwohnern machte sich schnell Erleichterung breit, als sich die Nachricht verbreitete, dass das Krokodil weg war.

Anwohnerin Lilia Lopez kommentierte: „Spooky!“ Ein anderer sagte wohl ironisch: „Armes kleines Tier!“ Eine weitere Anwohnerin brachte bestimmt viele Einheimische zum Nachdenken, indem sie schrieb: „Wir waren diejenigen, die in seinen Lebensraum eingedrungen sind. Aber gut, dass er in seine Lagune zurückgekehrt ist.“ (mjä)
