James and Bethany Jefferson-Loveday with Heidi post treatment. A baby born at Worcestershire Royal Hospital has been described as a miracle after both the mother and father underwent chemotherapy for lymphoma during the pregnancy, with all three now well and looking forward to their first family Christmas at home together. See SWNS story SWMRbaby. In December 2021, James and Bethany Jefferson-Loveday from Evesham were rocked by the news that doctors had diagnosed James with Hodgkin lymphoma an uncommon cancer that develops in vessels and glands throughout your body. The diagnosis led to the couple to try for a baby before James treatment began, in the knowledge that conceiving may be more difficult after chemotherapy. Bethany, 30, was over the moon when she found out she was pregnant in January, but joy later turned to despair when she was diagnosed with a high grade of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma a similar form of cancer at 21 weeks pregnant.

Influencer with cancer says goodbye to fans as ‘things not going well’

A 20-year-old influencer has revealed that her cancer battle has worsened as she thanked her followers for their support and bid them farewell.

Elena Huelva, who has 615,000 Instagram followers, has been fighting it since her early teens.

She became a symbol of resilience during her battle with Ewing sarcoma, a rare type of cancer that affects bones, or the tissue around bones, and mainly affects children and young people.

The brave woman was diagnosed with the rare illness in 2016.

However, in a heartbreaking update on 4 December, Elena said that her condition has worsened as she said goodbye to her followers.

The young woman added: “My life has not been in vain.”

Visibly emotional, the cancer sufferer holds back the tears as she explains that “things are not going well” in the footage.

Lying in a hospital bed with tubes attached to her airways, the influencer says: “They found more disease in my windpipe, which is very dangerous, as you know, because that’s where we breathe. I don’t need to say much more.”

She said she hoped she never had to make this video, but stated: “I want to make it clear that I've already won. With all the love and people I have by my side, I've already won.”

Elena added: “Whatever happens, I know that my life was not in vain, because I fought and got what I wanted,” referring to her wish to make cancer a more visible issue on social media.

“At the end of the day, life is about living and making memories with people, and I take away many good memories with lots of wonderful people and many other things.

“I would like to thank you for all the affection you have always given me.”

She added: “I love you.”

The video has gone viral with nearly 600,000 ‘likes’ and 60,000 comments, including from Spanish celebrities such as actress Ana Obregón
