Grace receiving treatment at Birmingham Children's Waterfall House. See SWNS story SWMDcancer. January 4, 2022. A mum has been left angry after doctors told her that her daughter had suspected constipation and appendicitis ? only for it to be a rare liver cancer. Mum-of-two Louise Millward, 34, was left stunned when doctors told her that her daughter, Grace, had hepatoblastoma ? a type of cancer only diagnosed in 10 to 15 children each year in the UK. The heart-breaking news came after Louise and her partner, Don, 34, first noticed that toddler Grace had lost her appetite, felt tired and was feeling nauseous in May of last year. Growing concerned, she contacted her local GP where she was transferred to Worcester Royal Hospital and then to Birmingham?s Children?s A&E, Grace was treated for suspected appendicitis and constipation. / action press

Schoolgirl told Covid symptoms were actually CANCER eight days before last Christmas can't wait to spend this year at home after getting all clear.

A schoolgirl who was misdiagnosed with Covid-19 when she actually had cancer has returned home for Christmas – after spending the festive season last year in hospital.

Georgia Jeffrey, nine, from Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, will be able to wake up in her own bed on Christmas morning after finally beating leukemia.

"We're all just so chuffed. We're just really going to spoil her," mum Leigh Jeffrey, 46, told Jam Press.

Georgia was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on 17 December 2020 – just eight days before Christmas – and was told she would spend the festive period in hospital needing treatment.

Just four weeks earlier she developed what mum Leigh and dad David, 48, thought was just a high temperature.

They contacted their local GP, who was only offering phone consultations due to the coronavirus restrictions and because of her temperature, he believed she could have Covid-19.

Georgia had a PCR test and when it was negative, they contacted the GP again, who said it sounded like a viral infection.

It was only after the fourth concerned phone call that Georgia's GP arranged a video chat.

Leigh, who is also mum to John Michael, 27, Antonia, 25, Jack, 20, Jayden, 15, said within minutes of seeing poorly Georgia, the doctor urged them to visit hospital.

She drove Georgia to their local hospital where doctors ran tests and the next morning she was transferred to Great North Children's Hospital, Newscastle, where the family were told the diagnosis just as they were preparing to celebrate Christmas.

Leigh added: "It was devastating for everybody.

"Last Christmas because of Covid only one visitor was allowed on the ward.

"So it was a case of one going while the

CATERS NEWS (PICTURED Chloe posing with her Mother) A key worker who was told she had covid due to her five-month-long cough has now been told she actually has cancer. Chloe Girardier, 23, from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, believed she had contracted a cold in July after experiencing a chesty cough but was left concerned after the cough continued weeks after. Chloe, who claimed to initially be denied an in-person doctor's appointment, was given antibiotics, inhalers, and acid reflux tablets to no avail. But after seven doctor's appointments, Chloe had had enough after noticing she was losing weight and demanded a chest X-ray to discover what was causing her continuous cough. SEE CATERS COPY
