Cops find body of girl, five, set in concreted crate used by mum as NIGHTSTAND
A 27-year-old mother has been arrested after the body of her young daughter was found set in concrete in a wooden crate used as a bedside table for months.
Vanesa Alejandra Mansilla has told cops she found five-year-old Milagros dead.
She was born prematurely with health issues and was bedridden for most of her life, according to local media.
Loved ones also claimed that she favoured her other two children, aged seven and three, while little Milagros was often left alone in unsanitary conditions.
After the young victim died of a respiratory infection, her mother is accused of placing her body in a nylon bag inside a wooden box before filling it with concrete, according to reports.
The mum then is said to have used the crate as a bedside table for at least a few months.
An autopsy said the girl died of a respiratory illness, but could not establish the date of her passing.
When quizzed by the police after finding the body, the mother told them that she was “scared” and did not know what to do about her daughter’s death.
She also reportedly lied to family members, including the girl’s father, about her whereabouts out of fear.
The police launched an investigation following a complaint by the girl’s father on 24 October.
The victim’s body was found at her mother’s house in San Andrés Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 28 November.
A police spokesperson said: “She used the box with the body as bedside table in her bedroom.
“She was a young girl who was born prematurely, who had multiple pre-existing conditions and had a tracheotomy and a nasogastric tube.

Also schaltete er die Polizei ein, die kurze Zeit später Untersuchungen einleitete – und die Wohnung der Mutter vier Tage später inspizierte. Dabei machte sie eine schreckliche Entdeckung.
Die Beamten fanden den Körper einer toten Fünfjährigen einbetoniert in eine Holzkiste, die die Mutter als Nachttisch genutzt haben soll. Und zwar monatelang, berichtet der britische „Mirror“. Es ist ein Fall an der Grenze des Erträglichen, wohl auch für die Beamten. Die Mutter befindet sich in Untersuchungshaft. Bislang bestreitet sie, ihre Tochter umgebracht zu haben.
Mutter soll Kind vernachlässigt haben
Die 27-Jährige behauptet, sie habe ihre Tochter tot aufgefunden, nachdem sie geschlafen hatte. Aus Panik hätte sie sich nicht anders zu helfen gewusst, als die Leiche zu verstecken. Neben der toten Fünfjährigen hat die Mutter noch zwei andere Kinder, sie sind nun in der Obhut einer der Großmütter. Familienmitglieder gaben laut „Mirror“ an, die Mutter habe die tote Fünfjährige vernachlässigt. Das Mädchen soll schwer krank und auf Hilfe angewiesen gewesen sein.
Frühere Anzeichen von Gewalt hätte es laut Staatsanwalt Daniel Cangelosi nicht gegeben. Die Behörden werten derzeit Obduktionsergebnisse der Leiche und eine Analyse der Bettmatratze aus, auf der Blutspuren gefunden wurden. (jak)
